Timeline Event:

Jun 08, 1942

Sydney, Australia: A Japanese Submarine surfaced off of Sydney and began lobbing shells into the port. A P-39 of the 41st FS, 35th FG, the ONLY fighter available took off from Bankstown Airfield, while climbing out, the engine failed, the Airacobra crashed killing the pilot.
